Boy, is it gratifying to finally finish something! It wasn’t easy, however. As predicted, I ran out of yarn. And what little I had left was chewed and slobbered on by my cat. (He has really earned his name, Chewie.) I went in search for a swatch that I made in the same yarn, but as I feared, I had already thrown it away. (Note to self: never throw away a swatch again. Ever.) So I frogged a little bit of one of these socks to finish the toe. I didn’t really mind frogging the socks, since they were the first pair I ever made and not well made at that. I must’ve done something wrong because I wasn’t able to smoothly rip out the stitches like I can when I decide to rip back a few rows while I’m knitting. I kept running into snags and knots. I still don’t have a clue what I did wrong, but if I figure it out and can frog the rest easily, I might make some padded footlets someday.
Here’s another picture that shows the detail of the pattern somewhat better:

One last thing: it is National De-Lurking Week.

So, is anyone out there? Bueller?
