FREEEDOOM!

Filed under: grad school, knitting — Marie @ 12:37 am

The semester is finally over…imagine me on a horse, galloping up and down the battle line, with woad on my face a la Mel Gibson in Braveheart. Ok, maybe not. But it feels pretty damn good to be done. I had a bit of a rough semester (nothing to do with school, strangely enough), but I made it through anyhow. And now for the really good news…my husband got the job in Houston! That puts him only four hours away, which is a vast improvement, believe me. And now I’m married to a professor; I’m so proud of him…

Now I’m planning on working on all my neglected knitting projects. (I am taking classes this summer, but I do have about a month’s break right now.) I have to solve the bead mystery, pick up the lucky cardigan again, sew up the cable eight top, and finally start planning for Sockapalooza 4! Sockapalooza is really what’s on my mind now; I’m jealous of all those who’ve already started. I know I’d like to make something from Nancy Bush’s Knitting Vintage Socks, but unfortunately my copy is back in Detroit. As a matter of fact, I think most of my pattern books are. But no worries: I’m flying back for a week at the end of the month to help get the packing started, so I can pick out my pattern then! Then comes the yarn selection…

  1. If you are in town over the memorial day holiday, we should see if we could meet up for a few hours of yarn shopping!
